Chris Shea

I've taken many lessons with other instructors before Chris and he is by far my favorite! I took a private with him and I loved every minute of it! He helped me improve immensely over a short period of time while making it very fun and enjoyable! His clear instructions, patience, kindness, and passion really helped me to succeed. He made learning how to snowboard one of the best experiences I've had! I cannot thank him enough for such a fantastic experience and I definitely plan on going to him for my future lessons!

I don't know what I can write to convey what an incredible instructor and overall human being Chris is. Chris was highly recommended to me by a friend and accompanied by lavish praise. I booked Chris at Mount Snow , in possession of some basic snowboarding skills that had served me for the last few years. My initial impression of Chris had me immediately booking additional lessons with him. Chris was unfailingly patient throughout our time together. His instructions were so clear and concise and I had no problems following them. He had such a positive attitude and such great energy. His love for the sport is so infectious and contagious, it is impossible not to be affected. His positive encouragement instilled in me the confidence I needed to push myself. I was amazed by how much and how quickly I progressed under his tutelage. His keen eye would catch every area that I could improve and he would correct my mistakes with gentleness. I really appreciated that he would explain the reasons behind why we do things a certain way and why one approach was more affective than another. We even experimented with different methods so I can feel the difference. Chris gives his all: his focus, his attention and his concern that you learn all he can teach you. I've had other instructors since then and feel that he has ruined me for others since no one can reach his standards. I chose to come back to Mount Snow this past week because I wanted to learn more from Chris. I brought my sister and had her take lessons from him. She loves him as much as, if not more than, me. I hope to continue learning from him for many years to come.

I have tried lessons with other instructors, but my real learning was with Chris. Chris is the most patient, caring, and giving instructor. He will do anything to make snowboarding (and I am sure skiing as well) an enjoyable experience. He has lots of experience and is extremely knowledgeable in both skiing and snowboarding. He is a great teacher, and will go at the pace that you are most comfortable with. I still cannot believe how far I came. Before him I could not get down the bunny hill without falling flat on my face and almost crawling down, but after only a few lessons I was given enough guidance and self confidence to go down other trails. I'm from New York but I would definitely recommend driving all the way up just to get lessons from Chris Shea.

I had a snowboard class over J term that my school was offering. Chris was my instructor for the month of January. I grew so much as a rider, and i really feel better on my edges thanks to the time i had with Chris. Great approach to teaching ! Zach
