About

I chose teaching as a vocation when I left the Army and it quickly became a core of my avocation. I first became involved in the ski industry as a patroller and shortly became a first aid instructor. Within a few years I made a switch to training candidates in both skiing and toboggan handling.
Whether I was in the classroom or on the snow or working with the Trout Unlimited Veterans Service Program, my greatest feelings of satisfaction come from watching a student achieve a goal. The successful turn, the first roll cast or the solution to a problem in economics - the students' achievement is my greatest accomplishment.
In the alpine world I have taught skiers from 3 to 80 years of age, from from first timers to skiers in the bumps and the trees and it has all been fulfilling. When the groomers have worked their magic Snowdance is a rush. When the fresh snow has built up the trees are a blast.
