Ian Danby

Ian - thanks so much for all the videos! Also for teaching Lucas this weekend. He had a great time and you made it fun and relaxing for him! We really appreciate it and can't wait for our trip out west to go with him!

My daughter Maya had a wonderful experience working with Ian. She had a 2 hour private lesson and as she is a beginner, we were very luck to have gotten Ian. His patience working with a child was a welcomed relief. Maya is 6 years old and was understandably nervous. Ian quickly calmed her nerves with relateable questions and funny friendly banter, not easy with a 6 year old. He allowed us to shadow him for the first few minutes so she was comfortable and once she was, we were gone. When we came back he was confident enough with her ability to take her up the beginners ski lift in the training area of Mt. Snow. She was so happy and exited that she got to go on the lift. She had a great learning experience with Ian and bragged to all her friends how she even made it to the lift. At the conclusion, Ian sent us a very informative and detailed email about his 2 hours with Maya, informing us of her strengths and her weaknesses. Couldn't have been happier with the entire experience. So glad to have met you Ian and looking forward to seeing you again on our next visit to the area. Thank you!

My 11 y/o son thoroughly enjoyed his lesson with Ian and made great progress.

I had not been on skis for almost 8 years so I decided to take a Private Lesson before hitting the slope. I had Ian as an instructor and he was wonderful! He is fun, very knowledgeable, and has great methods of making you remember things (hundred dollar bills). By the end of the day I felt much more comfortable and was not afraid anymore. I highly recommend him for any level, whether is for a beginner, a fresher, or an intermediate/advanced.

What I liked best about Ian was his ability to communicate. He seemed to have a million ways to explain concepts to make sure that they clicked. He was able to quickly spot my weaknesses and create a plan to improve through a combination of explanation, feel, demonstration and practice. I was skiing better immediately and by the end of the session was on my way to owning the changes. I skied the next day by myself and already felt locked in to the point that I could test things out on advanced variable terrain and steep bumps. I also really like Ian as a person. He is extremely likable and that's important when you're spending the day one-on-one with someone. Kudos for a great lesson! I strongly recommend him.

I did a join private lesson with my 3 year old daughter at Mt Snow.. Ian was very gentle and patient with my daughter. It was her first time on skis but she felt totally comfortable and excited to ski by end of the lesson. Next day she wanted to take another lesson with Ian but he wasn't available. I would recommend him for any first timers.

Ian is a very patient instructor and very encouraging. In order to get me used to skiing. He asked me which other sports I played to adapt the logic into the snow. I found it inspiring. I have taken skiing lessons with three instructors at different ski resort so far, I think he is the best!

My son, Alex is 6 years old and had very little ski experience before this trip. He had been on the Magic carpet a bunch of times the year before. After just one lesson with Ian, Alex was actually able to go to the top of the mountain. The second day, he made even more progress and now is completely comfortable riding the chair lift and skiing on any green trail. Ian was really amazing with Alex and was comfortably able to push him along and teach him so many skills. I am looking forward to Ian continuing to work with Alex and some of my other kids too!

Ian is a great instructor and skier! Highly recommend him for all levels of skiing. Communicates extremely well and is super helpful giving pointers and tips for improvement. Had so much fun!!
