About

Snowboarding is my biggest passion and I want to share that with as many people as possible. That is the reason why I started teaching. This is my second year teaching at Copper Mountain; I chose to return to Copper because of it's friendly atmosphere and surrounded by people who love the snow and snow sport culture. I received my AASI Level 2 Cert last season and just received my Children's Specialist Cert 1 this January. Besides snowboarding, I love to travel and take pictures of my adventures.

Private 1/2 day lesson with Justin today . First time ever snowboarding. By lunch time I was exhausted. He really breaks it down and starts at ground zero fundamentals that incrementally build into "the falling leaf". Highly skilled and highly passionate about teaching proper form and body mechanics. Listen to his advice, commit and you will see progression. After lunch I was riding longer green runs off of the union creek lift.

Justin was full of knowledge and was great at explaining snowboarding mechanics in a way that was easily understood. Though in a group setting, Justin was able to cater to everyone's individual needs/weaknesses. I was having a harder time learning how to carve (compared to my classmates) and Justin went above and beyond to help me get it down by the end of the lesson. I really liked how thorough his instructions were and even if I didn't fall or do something "wrong", he would make suggestions on how I could do something better or more smoothly. Above all, you can truly see his passion and enthusiasm for snowboarding and teaching which not only made the lesson more fun, but motivated me to do better as well. Thanks Justin! Hope to see you around copper!

Justin was Awesome! I've been away from boarding for a while and was really nervous and had lost confidence. He took his time individually with each student and let others move on if picking it up or worked slowly and gently with those a lil slower. I Totally recommend him and will definitely use him next season, if I'm back in USA.

I had a group lesson with Justin this past Tuesday (3/22/2016). I had only snowboarded once before - 8 years ago. My main goal - this lesson - was to be able to perform S-turns with my snowboard. Justin was very thorough with his instructions and shared many good ideas as to achieve my goal. By the end of the day - I was able to perform many S-turns down the slope and improved them, down other slopes, the rest of this week. Justin is a Great instructor and I would recommend him to anyone who needs any type of instructions and tips with snowboarding. Thanks Justin!

This is only my second season of snowboarding so I have lots of room for improvement. I have a few goals for this season (jumps, bumps, and better turn control) that Justin was able to tailor the lesson towards to help me get closer to achieving. He is awesome at explaining the mechanics and demonstrating how complete the movement. When he is teaching you can really see his passion and talent for snowboarding. He is super encouraging, patient, and fun and really good at motivating you to improve. Justin’s method of teaching for me was great. By helping me learn how to shift my weight and the cause and effect I better understood my mistakes. He also introduced some new tricks for me to try to help prepare for jumps in the future. In the group lesson he was able balance the differences of what each rider wanted to improve on, which is critical. I left my lesson knowing I improved and excited about getting back on the mountain to put into practice what I had just learned. I would definitely recommend him for taking your riding to the next level and cleaning up those beginner bad habits, I promise you will not be disappointed. Thanks Justin!
