About

Hi I'm Skiin' Ian,
I am British/American and I learned to ski in France when I was 19. I have been teaching skiing since 1995. I speak English, French and some American!

IF YOU :

  • just got new skis and need to figure them out
  • seem to have reached a plateau and would like to have that break through
  • are fearful of the idea of sliding around on a slippery surface with a couple of sticks strapped to your feet
  • are perhaps not so young and wonder if this is right for you
  • have not skied in a while and need a refresher
  • are going out west or abroad and need to take your own personal ski instructor 
  • don't ski but need a professional apres ski partner

THEN I AM THE PERFECT INSTRUCTOR FOR YOU.

SAFETY and FUN are my top priorities. I love to teach groups as much as I do one to one, the time spent together on the hill is always geared towards your goals and I guarantee you will walk away patting yourself on the back.

l believe that everyone can improve every time they go out.

If you book me for a 2 hour private I will endeavor to take video of you at the beginning and end of the lesson and review and email it to you at the end of the day (weather permitting).

None - Another Program

Ian is the best instructor on the mountain. He is extremely patient, adaptive, positive and encouraging. He used daily life terminology the entire group could relate to. I haven't been on skis in 21 years and back then they taught us how to stop and sent us on our way. This experience was much more challenging but has instilled so much confidence! Thank you Skiin' Ian!

Ian is a fine teacher. He provides vivid metaphors of what one should focus on. A good sense of humor. He emailed me pointers to focus on. I recommend Ian.

i have had the pleasure of skiing in your class on many occassions as well as free skiing at many different locations. Your ease at explaining exercises and demos makes it easy to see what will help me increase my ski abilities in all conditions and terrains. I look forward to spending many more days on the slopes whether in your class or as your wingman on days of sheer enjoyment. thanks for your help.

Ian Danby conducted an advanced comprehensive ski lesson that employed many innovative techniques to help improve my balance, posture & control on the mountain. Ian has a friendly & outgoing personality. So remember, if you want a lesson skiin', just ask for Ian!

Just had another lesson with Ian Danby this weekend, and It was soooo helpful. He's precise in his instruction, but easygoing in his manner. Ian gives clear directions that are easy to follow and yield results. Want to take your skiing to the next level, and the next level after that? I highly recommend a lesson with 'Skiin' Ian.' He's a great instructor.

With his even temperament and good humor it's always a delight ski'n with Ian. Ian has a discerning eye that can usually pick up some nuance of one's technique that can stand some improvement. Helping a new skier improve their technique is easy as there is so much to improve. Finding the key to improve the technique of a more experienced skier is far more difficult. That's one of Ian's many skills and he has helped to improve my own skiing, That's why I love ski'n with Ian.
