About

I caught the action sports bug early in my life. I have been an instructor at Wintergreen for over 13 years and a Freeride team coach for 5 years. This past season, I became the Head Coach of the Wintergreen Freeride Team.We are regional and national competition based free-ski and snowboard team. I oversee 7 coaches and nearly 60 children.

I have my AASI Level 2 Snowboard Certification, Freestyle accreditation and USASA Level 200. I have also served on the Advisory Committee that served to improve the Wintergreen snowsports program. Member of the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI) as well as United State of America Snowboard Association (USASA).

Intermediate - Another Program

Mike is an awesome instructor to work with no matter what ability level you're at. He is very effective at quickly gauging a person's current ability, taking into account his or her goals, and specifically tailoring the lesson accordingly. Plus, his passion and enthusiasm for the sport is very evident and will keep things interesting no matter what. I've only been riding for three seasons now, and I've been taking lessons with Mike throughout that time. Thanks to him, I've been able to progress from an awkward novice to a solid intermediate boarder, now riding black diamonds and most terrain park features. Even if you're just looking for one lesson for your snowboarding experience, you can't go wrong with this instructor.
